Konnilaree was born and raised in Mesa, AZ to a huge family. She grew up writing and drawing until she earned her degree in Accounting. When she became pregnant with her second daughter, she decided to be a stay-at-home mom. She loved this new job more than anything in the world, but it has been a whole new challenging experience.  She decided to use this new skill in combination with her love of writing and drawing, and Stories by Mom was born.  These books are a collaborative work of her entire family

She has been married to her husband, Charles, for over a decade and is very happy. Their oldest daughter, Abigail, is 6, and their second daughter, Eleanor, is 3. They also have 2 dogs, 5 cats, 4 chickens, and a dozen fish that will eventually make their way into these stories.

She has a dozen books written and sketched for potential publication. So, please visit back soon for more books, activities and author/mom updates.

Charles Sanders

Dad, Support, and Teacher
Charles was born and raised in Mesa, AZ and is married to Konnilaree Sanders. They have two daughters, Abigail and Eleanor. Charles proudly served in the AZ National Guard, and now serves as a Social Studies teacher for Gilbert Public Schools. But, his best service and favorite job is being a dad. Charles has always had a strong bond with his daughters. He has many roles in being a dad, and the only boy in the house. This includes being “Mr. Fix-It,” whether it is a broken crayon, a favorite toy, a scrapped knee, or hurt feelings, Abigail proclaims, “Dad, can fix it!” He is quite handy and gifted in this regard.  Also he is “hugs and kisses” central. Whenever he comes home from work everyone rushes to get their fix. He does a wonderful job being a supportive father and husband.

Abigail Age 7
Abigail is the oldest daughter of Charles and Konnilaree Sanders. She was born in the same hospital both her parents were born; a true Arizona native. She is currently 7 years old and in 2nd grade. She absolutely loves books! A good book receives her undivided attention, even when the best TV show is on. She loves that her mom writes stories about her. She makes suggestions, poses for pictures, and even makes some of her own stories. She is very crafty and artistic. She is often devising a new project. She follows her dad in ingenuity and mom in imagination. Her favorite hobbies include, arts and crafts, and more recently Roblox.  She’s cuddling with talking with her parents or teaching them something new.  She is also a big animal lover. Her favorite animal use to be a tiger, but, now loves Sloths. She has an opinion about everything, but can laugh about everything.

Eleanor Age 4
Eleanor is the second child of Charles and Konnilaree Sanders. Just as her family was, she was born in Mesa, AZ. She is currently 4 years old. Eleanor does not let being a second child deter her from her fair share of attention. She does not let her size dissuade her from participating in everything like everyone else does. She started walking at just 10 months just to keep up with everyone. She emulates her sister in all things. They are truly best friends. Eleanor loves to help her mom write and draw. It is their favorite activity together. Eleanor also loves animals, a little too much at times. But, she has a big heart and loves to share. She is a joy to watch.
